“To the past, or to the future. To an age when thought is free. From the Age of Big Brother, from the Age of the Thought Police, from a dead man… greetings.”
– Winston Smith, 1984
That was the first line that Winston wrote in his journal. So I have
stolen borrowed the line for the first entry in this journal.
To the cynical folks in the audience tonight, I am well aware that in 2012, blogs and online journals are anything but a new concept. I must apologize, because at the end of the day, this site isn’t for you, it’s for me. It is my sincere hope that by publishing some of my inner monologues here, it will force me to focus my mind on those thoughts, fears, hopes and dreams and the act of sorting through them and communicating them to the web will also empower those thoughts to communicate more clearly with me. I hope that is what happens. The last thing the internet needs is more digital babble.
